Вышла новая версия музыкального проигрывателя Banshee для GNOME.

- улучшена функция импорта, вся разметка делается через taglib-sharp, улучшена поддержка метаданных ID3, AAC/MP4, добавлено чтение ASF/WMA, метаданные наконец-то можно (по выбору) писать напрямую в файлы, заметно улучшен сам редактор метаданных;
- новый интерфейс к записи CD -- диски можно создавать из любых источников (фонотеки, общего каталога, iPod);
- появились "умные" (динамические) списки воспроизведения, автоматически обновляющиеся при определённых изменениях в фонотеке, редактор этих списков позволяет создавать правила практически любой сложности;
- появилась функция оценки дорожек по пятибалльной (скорее даже пятизвёздочной ) системе одним щелчком мышью;
- переделан диалог параметров программы;
- появились всплывающие уведомления о смене дорожки.

Дополнительно можно скачать и установить расширения, среди которых:

- отображение рекомендаций похожих исполнителей (last.fm);
- прослушиваний подкастов;
- уменьшенная версия GUI;
- доступ к статьям Wikipedia об исполнителях;
- прочие полезности

22 числа вышла новая версия плеера для GNOME с функциями копирования и прожига компакт дисков, синхронизацией с ipod и njb плеерами и поддержкой плагинов.
Среди других возможностей:
синхронизация с подкаст-лентами;
редактирование мета-данных;
умные списки воспроизведения
audioscrobbler (last.fm)
и многое другое;
Плеер активно развивается, в каждой новой версии исправляют ошибки и добавляют новые фичи.

This is the fourth release in the Banshee 1.0 series. This Beta 1 release
does not have feature parity with previous Banshee releases (the last
being Banshee 0.13.2). This means there are some features in this
release that users may have come to know and love in Banshee that are
missing for the time being.

However, although this is an Beta release, it is quite stable and has
many great new features and performance improvements which will be detailed
later. It has also been designed to be both installed and run in parallel
with previous Banshee releases, so you can test the release out without
breaking your stable Banshee setup.

Missing features include:

* Some hardware support
- CD Burning

* Some plugins have not yet been ported to the new 1.0 architecture:
- Podcasting, DAAP/iTunes Music Sharing, Internet Radio
- Recommendations, Batch Cover Art Fetching

Do not despair, these features will be added back before the final 1.0
release. Many more features are projected to land in the Beta 2 release of
Banshee 1.0. We expect releases in quick succession leading up to the
final 1.0 release.

These changes were made to ensure that you can run older Banshee releases
in parallel with new Banshee releases:

* The location of the user configuration directory for Banshee 1.x changed
from ~/.config/banshee to ~/.config/banshee-1 (where ~/.config is defined
by XDG policy)

* The base GConf path used for storing settings via the GNOME backend
changed from /apps/banshee to /apps/banshee-1; an XML configuration file
will be used if the GNOME backend extension is not installed

Start playing when artist or album browser is double clicked
Bookmarks extension is now available
Use XDG_CACHE_HOME directory for cache files
Disabled the equalizer temporarily until gstreamer pipeline issues are resolved


The main view now respects your system DPI settings and has seen massive performance improvements.
Jump to playing song is now implemented (Ctrl-J)
The Last.fm data screen has some visual improvements.


Fullscreen video is now supported (go to Now Playing and press f or hit the Fullscreen button)
Extensions can be enabled and disabled in the new Mange Extensions tab within your Preferences.

Banshee 1.2.1 is a maintenance and bug fix release to Banshee 1.2.0. We've polished a few features, fixed a good handful of bugs, and our wonderful translators have contributed some worthy updates!
