Вышла новая версия дистрибутива SystemRescueCd, предназначенного для восстановления данных после краха системы. Эта система, основанная на Gentoo Live CD, выполнена на загрузочном диске и включает множество функций администрирования. С ее помощью можно создавать и редактировать разделы на жестком диске, запускать системные утилиты и т.д. Ядро дистрибутива поддерживает наиболее важные файловые системы: ext2/ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs, vfat, ntfs, iso9660, а также сетевые Samba и NFS.

В новой версии SystemRescueCD представлено ядро 2.6.15.6, исправлена серьезная ошибка, связанная с установкой с USB-стика, а также с FTP, до версии 1.12.1 обновлены ntfsprogs, скрипты Oscar, мануал.
