GerbView can view, print and convert Gerber, Extended Gerber, ODB++, PDF, Excellon, PLT, HPGL/2 and other file formats.

Gerbview will visualize your design, on the screen or in hardcopy. No more waiting for photo plots or a prototype circuit board, to see your true design.

GerbView supports both RS-274D and RS-274X Gerber formats, and you can use it to convert your older Gerber files to the new RS-274X extended format. The newer extended Gerber format contains embedded aperture information, and this minimizes the risk for errors during the manufacturing of the PCB.

With GerbView's PDF to CAD capability you can convert your Adobe PDF files back to editable Gerber RS-274X and DXF files.

GerbView can create layered PDF, DXF and DWF files where each loaded Gerber file will correspond to a separate layer in the destination file. Check out our blog to read more about how you can create layered PDF files with GerbView. You may in addition create a multi-page PDF file from all loaded layers, where each layer will be placed on its own page in the output file.
With GerbView you can export individual layers, or the whole workspace, to any of the supported raster formats, which includes TIFF, JPEG, PNG and BMP. The resolution and number of colors used for the conversion can be set by the user.

GerbView now displays component layers if available in ODB++ files.
New dialog for listing component information in ODB++ files.
New dialog for searching for components in ODB++ files.
Added a tool that can be used replace the aperture for a single selected item.
Added support for EasyPC DOS aperture file format.
Added support for EasyPC DOS drill size file format.
Align layer function now ignores invisible layers to make it easier to pick elements for alignment.
Added new separate output tabs for query and measurements information.
Added new option for the Convert Layers to Multiple files dialog that make it possible to enable or disable use of aligned workspace coordinates. Enabling the use of workspace coordinates is very useful if you've manually aligned Gerber layers.

ODB++ file from customer failed to open.
Added support for Excellon type 2 format step and repeat commands (M25, M01, M02 and M08).
Slots in Excellon drill file had wrong size.
Loading of Excellon drill file from customer did never complete.
ODB++ ZIP file failed to open.
Excellon drill file was loaded with incorrect tool sizes.
Zoom to extents did not show correct area after a layer alignment or move.
Profiles found in ODB++ files are now loaded as a separate layer.
Component layers are now loaded from ODB ZIP files too.
Layers are no longer added to the recently used file list if they are loaded from a ZIP file.

Added option to delete items found on all visible Gerber layers.
Added option to toggle "color adjust" for Gerber on/off.
You can now select a gray tone from black to white color for "unchanged" items during layer compare. This may make it easier to see the changes.
Added an option in the DXF layer dialog to control if this dialog should be displayed each time a DXF is loaded, or not.

Added support /mx and /my parameters to use with the /c conversion parameter (/mx will mirror about x axis and /my will mirror about y axis).
Added support /r90, /r180 and /r270 rotation parameters to use with the /c conversion parameter. These parameters will rotate the output 90,180 or 270 degrees.
Added /q command line parameter. If this is used the splash startup image will not be displayed.
Compare layers will now also work for Excellon, HPGL and DXF.
Added an option to use the extent of all visible layers for Fit to Page print, instead of workspace extents.

Added an option to set maximum size of burn-in markup images. Any image larger than this limit will be scaled down.
Solved Issues:
1501 Added support for OrCAD aperture file format.
1500 Markup image burn-in was inverted.
1494 Excellon drill file was loaded as metric, but corresponding REP file (drill tool definitions) was loaded as inch.
1486 Rectangle apertures with height set to 0.0 were not displayed correctly.
Burn-in of rotated markup image was missing the rotation.
Alpha channel for 32-bit markup images were not handled correctly for burn-in.
Now uses flash commands instead of filled areas for Gerber markup image burn-in.

If a Gerber layer doesn't have any apertures with hole definition, you will now be asked if the tool sizes should be created from the aperture size instead.
You can optionally convert tracks into Excellon slot commands. A new setting was added to enable or disable inclusion of tracks, and it can be found under Settings->Formats->Advanced.
Added a new setting for controlling the resolution (DPI) for the PDF created by saving the comparison result.
Added a new setting to allow Merge Mode to be remembered between sessions.
Information text showing the meaning of the different colors, are now added to the PDF when comparison is saved.
Solved Issues:
1509 One of the Gerber files in a ZIP archive could not be loaded.
1508 Converting two drill layers into a new DXF file caused the layers to be misaligned.
1507 Converting Gerber and Drill layers into a DXF file caused the drill layer to be displaced.
1505 Saving a comparison result of customers files had wrong colors for equal content.
#### Only BMP files up to 64K file size could be imported.
#### Query of Excellon slots will now highlight the whole element.

Added an option to create PNG files with transparent alpha channel (32-bit) instead of filled background (e.g., white) if true color is selected for output. This option is enabled by default.
Solved Issues:
1512 An Excellon file from customer was not detected as a valid drill file.
#### The transparent setting in the Save As Image dialog was not stored between sessions.

Horizontal and vertical mirror option was added to the Excellon File Property dialog.
Solved Issues:
1532 Excellon drill file was not displayed correctly.
1528 Arcs displayed wrong if vertical mirror was activated.
- Markup tab Fill and Draw text were not translatable to other languages.

It could be almost impossible to inspect tracks and pads if a filled area was outlining the same location.
Added an option to import closed DXF polylines as filled polygons. The option is enabled by default.
Added aperture unit selection to the aperture highlight dialog.
