Это так называемый виртуальный метеорадар имеющий непрерывное обновление данных через интернет, обладающий способностью отслеживать пути следования ураганов и тайфунов и рассчитывать их приблизительное время прибытия в те или иные крупные населенные центры. Есть возможность воочию следить за изменением погодных условий в заданном районе.
Сильно огорчает то,что погоду можно предсказывать только на территории США.

StormPredator is the result of years of experience in the weather graphics business. The founder of the company, Anthony Watts, is a 25 year broadcast meteorology veteran and was responsible for the first ever PC based weather graphics display system for broadcast television in 1983. Since then, hundreds of TV stations have used TV weather display equipment he designed to show weather on the nightly news. Companies such as WSI and Accu-Weather® have relied upon systems designed right here.
StormPredator is now a second generation program. The first generation program, DesktopDoppler, was discontinued in May 2003 because it had reached the end of its ability to be improved. Originally written in Visual Basic 6, it was unable to grow to meet the needs of our customers and the features they requested. StormPredator, written in Microsoft Visual C++ is far more robust and feature rich, plus has our EXCLUSIVE STORM TRACKER TOOL (seen at left) with advanced mathematical calculation features for measuring distance, tracking storms, prediction of storm motion, and calculating the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of a storm.
Realistic map topography for all NEXRAD sites is included as standard, long and short range.

You must be connected to the Internet to run Storm Predator, you can connect via an Internet Service Provider via Modem Dialup, DSL, cable modem, satellite, or T-1 or other methods of connecting to the Internet.
If you are running a Personal Firewall program, you will need to allow Storm Predator to access the Internet through it.
Your PC must have at least 800x600 screen resolution with a color depth of 16 bits or higher. 24/32 bits is recommended for best quality.
Your PC processor should be a Pentium 3, or 4 of at least 1 GHz or faster for best performance, though SP will run on machines as slow as 800 mHz. Our recommended minimum is Pentium 4 at 2 GHz or faster
A minimum of 256 MB of ram is recommended, the more the better, 512MB preferred
Windows 2000 or XP Home, Pro, or Media Center versions are required as of Version 3.00 to run StormPredator
Windows 95 is not supported, Windows 98, Windows ME, are not supported, Windows NT4.0 is not supported.
For Macintosh - StormPredator requires Microsoft Virtual PC for Macs to operate.
Requires Windows to be running English language - will not install on non USA English Versions
